Signing Up Complete the poll worker application and mail, email, fax, or hand-deliver it to our office. In order to be appointed to work in a Primary election, poll workers must select which Political Party they represent. Independents will only be appointed in General elections.
Appointment Poll Workers are appointed by the Election Commission no more than sixty (60) days prior to Election Day. An appointment letter is emailed to the Poll Worker and a response is required. Poll Workers are compensated $150 for Election Day.
Training Poll Workers attend one mandatory training. Training classes are conducted usually no more than thirty (30) days prior to Election Day and are held on a day and time set by the Election Commission. If you attend training but do not work on Election Day, you will not be compensated for training.
Polling Place Assignments You must appear at your assigned polling place at approximately 7:15 a.m. The Officer of Election dismisses the Poll Workers at the precinct after the polls close at 8:00 p.m. after all tasks are completed.
Evaluations for each Poll Worker is completed by the Elections Officer at each polling place. Poll Workers who are not able to meet the standards for job performance, maintain non-partisan behavior, follow all election laws, or fulfill the duties properly and efficiently will not be appointed in future elections.
