The Blount County Sheriff's Office Basic Regional Law Enforcement Academy began in September 2007. The POST-approved 12-week academy instructs recruits in:


  • Basic Police Tactics

  • Criminal Justice

  • Defensive Tactics

  • DUI

  • Emergency Vehicle Operations

  • Firearms

  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) 

  • Report Writing

  • Traffic Accident Reconstruction

  • Domestic Violence

  • Law Enforcement Stress

  • Criminal & Constitutional Law

  • ALERRT

  • Radar Certification 

  • Traffic Stops

  • Patrol Interviewing

  • Other Related Law Enforcement Topics

Applications

The Blount County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a 12-week "Basic Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy" approved by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission for Tennessee. The Blount County Sheriff's Office Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy cannot accept private pay, all recruits must be sponsored by a law enforcement agency.

 Academy Starts: Monday AUGUST 14, 2023 

 Graduation Date: NOVEMBER 3, 2023 @ 10 AM
