Please do not dump leaves and debris in the ditches as it causes drainage tiles to stop up and roads to flood when it rains.
Blount County covers 567 square miles and has approximately 833 miles of roads. Given our current budget, we were able to pave 13.34 miles so far this year.
Please be aware and use caution when approaching our mowing crews.
We have six side mount bush hog mowers and three long arm mowers, we mow every road in the county based on routes five times each on both sides with a triple cut which works out to be almost 25,000 miles of road per season and if you stretch it out it is the equilavent to driving from Maryville to San Fransico and back on a mower 5 times, please be patient as it takes time to complete this process.
